Dr. Michael Karim
Over the past 35 years, Dr. Karim has worked back and forth between the academic and business worlds. He holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from The Ohio State University and has experience in business development and implementation of technology based learning solutions in the academic, corporate, and government arenas.
Dr. Karim has begun teaching for Qual-Tech, Inc. after two years with Aero Industries in Orlando, Florida, two terms as a Dean and Professor at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) and six years in United Arab Emirates where he was working as Business Development Manager for Abdulla Al Masaood and Sons Group of Companies in Abu Dhabi. He also served on the Board of Directors for Falcon Aviation Services, a company providing helicopter and business jet charter and maintenance operations in Abu Dhabi.
From 2002 to 2006 Dr. Karim served as the Dean of the College of Aeronautics at FIT.
Dr. Karim has held positions as Vice President, Technology Development with Citigroup’s Global Technology Group and Assistant Dean at the Center for Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota. He also worked in both flight operations training development and in NWA’s training subsidiary, Northwest Aerospace Training Corporation (NATCO) where he served as Staff Vice President for Instructional Systems. His experience includes work in training systems analysis and design with Reflectone Training Systems in Tampa, Florida, and American Airlines Training Corporation in Dallas, Texas. He is a commercial pilot with ground and flight instructor certificates. In July 2017, Dr. Karim was appointed as an Airman Certification Representative for the FAA.
